Last weekend I gave a short session at the MNR Academy (Montessori Nigeria Resources) on WhatsApp. I would like to share it with you here as well.
In this session we will be having a family talk. I will be the Mama and you will be my family members.
I am concerned that some of us are not considering where we are going…if you do not know where you are going you could actually end up somewhere else entirely or nowhere else!
So the question is…
Are you ready for 2021?
Do you know where you’re going to?
Put another way if you fail to plan for the year ahead then we are basically planning to stay the same. Or fail…or get worse… or not fulfill destiny… whichever way you look at it, if you do not prepare to do things differently from 2020 then nothing will change.
My 2020 was great but I am no complacent, I want things to evolve and get even better so I am preparing and calling you all to prepare for the year ahead.
As parents, teachers and school owners a reality check must tell us that something has to change!
So what is your vision for the year ahead?
What do you want to achieve in the next 12 months?
Write it out, then build a vision board and then start working towards it…
Another thing you must consider: what is your internal self talk like?
Do not sabotage your future with limiting beliefs, even before you get started.
You would also need to figure out what motivates you? What is going to get you going and keep you going when things get rough?
There will certainly be tough times when you will get confused, frustrated and tired but you will not quit because that motivating factor will keep you going.
So it is important to change your language and attitude to challenges.
Before any breakthrough there is always a challenge, or worse a breakdown, but keep going because you are and will be in the right place for a breakthrough.
Be grateful and thank God for the challenge because you are about to win big…
Now let’s consider how to you prepare briefly:
1. Write down your dreams, your goals and make a Vision board. (The house. Family, car school, Cheques…)
2. Write out 10 to 15 positive affirmation statements
“I am so grateful that…”
“I am so happy that…”
“I am a …”
All these affirmations are to do with your personal and business life. This way you are preparing yourself to be successful.
3. Change your language, no limiting beliefs or negative talk like :
“I am confused …”
“I’m overwhelmed… “
“I’m frustrated… “
“I don’t know what to do …”
“This isn’t working for me”.
We will continue the conversation on Saturday…
As we prepare our families, classrooms and schools for the new year, I pray we plan right so the coming year can be all that it is meant to be for each and everyone of us.
